ABOUT
The mission of the Missouri Chamber Music Festival (MOCM) is to bring the fine art of small ensemble playing to a wide audience through dynamic and accessible performances of the highest quality. MOCM invites nationally recognized professional musicians to historic Webster Groves, Missouri and St. Louis venues to perform a series of chamber music concerts as part of an annual festival which takes place each June. Diverse programming, including new and commissioned works, is a defining attribute of the festival, helping to illuminate the exciting, extraordinary, and diverse nuance of the small ensemble genre.
The Missouri Chamber Music Festival is a 501(c)(3) not for profit public charity incorporated in the state of Missouri. The Board of Directors of MOCM works to celebrate a community that brings together musicians, audience, an enthusiastic staff, volunteers, and donors in a welcoming social environment, to ensure viability and health of the organization, and continue to advance MOCM's mission of accessible and dynamic performances of chamber music.
To highlight and encourage the accessibility, diversity, and excitement of small ensemble playing, the Missouri Chamber Music Festival also hosts a Adult Chamber Music Intensive each June. This program enables collaboration between adult amateur instrumentalists and the nationally recognized professional musicians of MOCM in a workshop format emphasizing fun, mutual support, and encouragement in the common interest of chamber music.
MOCM was founded by pianist Nina Ferrigno and clarinetist Scott Andrews of St. Louis.
The Missouri Chamber Music Festival is generously supported with grants from the Regional Arts Commission and the Missouri Arts Council, as well as the generosity of businesses and individuals.
